Drug Users and AIDS

ACT UP’s activism was not limited to the gay community. They strongly advocated for more AIDS education for all. This included among school-aged children as well as populations especially vulnerable to HIV. One such population was intravenous drug users. ACT UP/RI put together multiple information campaigns and advertisements in an attempt to educate drug users on how to protect themselves against the virus.
